The Rod Eyot & the Village Pump

The piece of land opposite the Greet Hall known as the Rod Eyot was purchased by the Greet family and given to the village.  As the name suggests it was an Eyot, with grassy banks, railings around it and bull rushes and wild iris growing.

It was transferred to the Parish Council in December 1930 at the same time as the barn that is now known as The Greet Memorial Hall was handed over to the Parish Council

In 1967, this was filled in and grassed over, trees have been planted, and the area is planted with daffodils.

The Village Pump

The Village Pump is situated on the edge of the Rod Eyot plot and in front of the timber framed cottages on Thame Road.  The land on which it stands was transferred to the ownership of Warborough Parish Council by SOHA Housing Ltd in June 2002

It is unclear when the Pump was installed but is referred to in the Minutes of the Parish Council between 2000 – 2002 although no record of the actual installation is recorded.
