Over the years the divide between Shillingford and Warborough has been much debated.
At the time of the Plough Field appeal it required definition and was looked into in more detail.
A long held belief that there was a mark on a wall as you come round Wheelers End corner was investigated further and found to be on the wall outside Oatlands, marked with grey bricks.
Further evidence was researched and the census records were looked at but nothing found except for a margin note on the 1939 register where the enumerator has indicated that at Oatlands Shillingford & Warborough separate.
